There has been more snow in 2001 than in the past few years but the temperatures remain relative warm, between +2 and -10. Most days are overcast, so light is at a premium for photographers.

Old Harry was known as the fishing capital of the islands from 1900 to 1970, because the largest and the most profitable fishing grounds were on the shoals of underwater islands within a few minutes sailing of this old wharf.
